Ganigan “Maravilla” Lopez defeated Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez by unanimous decision 97-93, 98-92 and 98-92, to become the Latin Flyweight Silver Champion of the World Boxing Council.
It was a card presented by All Star Boxing Inc and Sports Productions, screened by Telemundo Deportes at the Blackberry auditorium. Lopez (35-8 and 19 KO’s) displayed his considerable experience to defeat Rodriguez (16-7 and 5 KO’s) , who made it a good fight by landing some sharp combinations.
The judges’ cards were all in favor of Lopez, who did what was necessary without taking undue risks to conquer the Latin Silver title of the WBC.
