DAVAO CITY – Former World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council minimumweight champion Roilo “The Phoenix/The Filipino Mexican” Golez is now teaching young kids how to box in Maco, Davao de Oro (formerly Compostela Valley).

Golez, who hails from Maco went home last August 2019 after he got sick of pneumonia.

“Na-confine ko for three weeks at muntik ba akong mamatay, pero sa awa ng Diyos naka recover din,” (I was confined for three weeks and I almost died, but by the grace of God I also recovered)said Golez.

The 33-year old Golez was confined and was in oxygen for three weeks.

Golez decided to quit boxing and started teaching boxing to young kids in August 2020.
