Guro still working for WBC World Silver atomweight title vs Castle

SOUTHPAW Norj Guro of Iligan City is still working out in Cebu City for her upcoming fight against Denise Castle of the United Kingdom on March 26 at the Habtoor Grand Resort in Al Falea, Dubai.

Guro and Castle will be vying for the World Boxing Council (WBC) World Silver atom weight title fight.

“Norj has been training in Cebu for four weeks now,” said Guro’s trainer Brix Flores.
He said that the 5-foot-1 Guro is still 106 pound last Friday.

“This coming Saturday, she will try to gain 104 pounds,” said Flores.

Guro’s sparring partner is 5-foot-5 Carleans “Chay” Rivas of Pasig (8-7-4).

Guro and Flores will be departing on March 22 for Dubai.

Guro has a ring record of 11 wins with four knockouts, seven loses and one draw.

Guro’s last fight was a unanimous decision victory against Zamboanga’s Joan Ambalong last May 7, 2018 at Barangay Maranding covered court in Lala.

She had earlier won the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council atomweight title by beating Umi Ishikawa of Japan last March 10, 2018 at San Pedro Plaza in San Pedro. Guro downed Ishikawa once in Round 3,

Castle, on the other hand, has three wins, two loses and three knockouts.

The 5-foot-3 Castle was before a professional Muay Thai with a record of nine wins, seven loses and two knockouts. Now she is into boxing.

Castle scored a technical knockout against Sutthinee Bamrngpao of Thailand in the 5th round last October 26, 2019 at the Highland Boxing in Udom Suksa School, Bangkok.

The boxing event is dubbed as “Summer Boxing Night: The Rising Sun Dubai”. It is promoted by Brico Santig of Highland Boxing and VIC Boxing Promotions.
