Hammer’s “Sound of Music” strategy to combat a full Nelson

In the best of Rodgers and Hammerstein tradition It’s:  “Climb every mountain, ford every stream;”  during  the lofty training camp of  undefeated World Boxing Council female middleweight  champion Christina Hammer, high up in the mountains of Austria.

Hammer (22-0, 10 KOs) will debut in the United States defending her crown against former world champion Tori Nelson (17-1-3, 2 KOs) on Friday, June 22, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan. .
Hammer, whoºs based in Dortmund, Germany, has dominated the women’s middleweight division since 2010. The 27-year-old boxer says that training in the Austrian mountains will bring out a performance of note.

“My camp has been very good. We train three times a day and have worked hard to be in the best possible shape for June 22 in Detroit,” said the champion adding:  “We are in Austria’s mountains, approximately 5000 feet above sea level and it’s  amazing.  Nature and mountain inspire me and give me energy.  It is very comfortable to run here and then go to the boxing gym.

“I’m going to show my power and ability, so people  are going to see the best middleweight champion in the world. My performance will speak by itself!”
