Japan`s Hozumi Hasegawa, will try to conquer the third world crown of his career, on September 16 in Osaka, Japan, challenging Hugo Ruiz, who`s the WBC super bantamweight world champion.
A former bantamweight and featherweight world champion, Hasegawa`s faces his toughest and heaviest test. Undaunted, he has a history with Mexican fighters, having fought ten of them, being defeated just twice.
Hasegawa dethroned WBC bantamweight champion, Veeraphol Sahaprom. He then defended the belt in 5 times before being defeated by Fernando Montiel. After that, he contested the vacant WBC featherweight belt, conquering it by defeating Juan Carlos Burgos.
The southpaw fighter has a 40% KO ratio. He`s reassured that Ruiz ‘power wont be a problem, insisting he`s making a beeline for “Cuatito” who`ll have to bring his A to keep his belt.
The much anticipated fight, will take place at the EDION Arena in Osaka.
