Jeff Horn and Anthony Mundine are good to go for Friday’s big fight in Brisbane, Australia, where they’ll finally meet after months of back-and-forth talking.
Horn (18-1-1, 12 KO) is moving up from welterweight for the catchweight showdown, and actually came in the heavier of the two, at 155½ pounds. The 43-year-old Mundine (48-8, 28 KO), the naturally larger man who has fought as high as light heavyweight, weighed in at 154¾.
As you might expect, they did a bit of last-minute salesmanship for the fight, with the often controversial Mundine shoving Horn as they faced off, before the scuffle was quickly broken up.
Horn, 30, rose to international prominence with a debated win over Manny Pacquiao in the summer of 2017, but is coming off of a one-sided loss to Terence Crawford in June. Mundine has lost two of his last three and three of his last five — and one of the wins was controversial — but he’s coming off of a second round knockout of Tommy Browne in January.
Horn-Mundine will stream live on ESPN+ in the United States, and we’ll be here on Friday morning with live coverage.
