How Teaching Improves Christian Lee’s Martial Arts Mastery

Christian “The Warrior” Lee’s mixed martial arts skills are growing at an ever-increasing rate, simply because of his role in helping others to develop.

The 20-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt started training in martial arts under his parents’ guidance as soon as he was able to walk. As a result, the young prodigy became experienced enough to teach the adult classes at his family’s United MMA in Hawaii, USA, by the time he was 17 years old.

Being in a position to pass on his knowledge to others means Lee will forever be a student of martial arts so he can be the most effective educator he can be.

“When you tell someone exactly, step-by-step, how to do a move, you need to have it mastered yourself,” he says.

“That just helps me to sharpen my game even more.”

That attention to detail has translated to the cage, where he has already become one of the world’s best competitors in his weight class.

The Evolve representative will need to have his skills at their sharpest to prevail in his next bout against Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly.

The fascinating featherweight encounter takes place at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON in Shanghai, China’s Baoshan Arena this Saturday, 8 September.
