PHILIPPINES – The promising Junjesie “Tornado” Ibgos (11-2-0, 9 KOs) of Zamboanga del Sur will fight Hagibis Quinones (5-20-1, 4 KOs) of General Santos City on June 18 at the Kitaotao Gym in Kitaotao, Bukidnon.
The 22-year old Ibgos, a native of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur previously fought but lost for the vacant IBF Australasian lightweight title against Brandon Ogilvie last April 8 by a unanimous decision at the Eaton Recreation Centre in Burnbury in Western Australia.
Ibgos last won by a unanimous decision against Fil-Am William George last August 20, 2016 in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.
Quinones, on the other hand, is coming from a 1st round knockout loss from the hands of Antonio Sismundo held January 27 in Bohol.
In fact, Quinones, who is being trained by his own father Billy, has already suffered six straight losses all by knockout or technical knockout since he stopped JP Macadumpis on April 15, 2015 in Sarangani Province.
His younger brother Holly Quinones (3-8-1) will also be fighting Japanese Masayuki Ogata (1-0-0) in the undercard.
