WBO welterweight titleholder Jeff Horn is less than two weeks away from his showdown with top pound-for-pound contender Terence Crawford in Las Vegas, and the 30-year-old Aussie battler says he’s trained harder than ever for the fight.
From FOX Sports Australia:
“I’m not scared of this guy. You have to be confident in boxing, if you go in there thinking you’re going to lose then that’s exactly what will happen. … I’ve worked harder for this fight than I ever have. I’ll be pushing hard, pressuring him throughout the fight. I’ll be thinking about my family, about my wife and daughter, going to the places that lift me when I need to dig deep.”
Horn (18-0-1, 12 KO) scored a controversial upset over Manny Pacquiao last summer to lift the WBO title, and made a defense in December against Gary Corcoran.
But he’s the massive underdog against Crawford (32-0, 23 KO), a two-division champion coming up from 140 pounds to invade the crowded and star-studded welterweight division. Add in that he’ll be fighting in the U.S. for the first time as a professional, and he’ll have to be better than he’s ever been if he’s going to win this one.
