This boxer from Echévarri, a town on the outskirts of Bilbao, is gaining the attention of boxing worldwide. On February 10, he made his second US combat, televised live on Showtime. With a perfect record of 10 victories with 8 KO’s and no defeats, Jon faced Ernesto Garza III, a rocky and aggressive American boxer who was crowned champion of the prestigious amateur tournament Golden Gloves in 2008. Garza, so far had a record of 7 wins with a loss. He was very confident before the fight: “I’m going to win by KO, he has not faced someone like me.”

Jon prepared for the match along with one of the best boxers of the moment, Carl Frampton, who requested his help, in the run up to his rematch bout with Leo Santa Cruz. Jon is a tall super-featherweight (1.80 m) with striking characteristics similar to those of Santa Cruz and Frampton is a boxer of a stature similar to Garza.
