Jorge Masvidal addresses Leon Edwards, Ben Askren callouts: ‘What do I care to fight you or the other guy?’

In one night, Jorge Masvidal became a marked man again and he’s loving every minute of it.

Two weeks ago at UFC London, “Gamebred” reminded everyone why he is one of the most respected veterans in the sport with a scary second-round knockout of Darren Till. He then proceeded to remind everyone of his roots as a street fighter when he gave Leon Edwards the now-infamous “three-piece and a soda” combination during a backstage altercation.

Unsurprisingly, Edwards is chomping at the bit for a crack at Masvidal and he’s not the only one. Recently signed UFC welterweight Ben Askren claims that he was in talks for a matchup with Masvidal, but that Masvidal is “scared” to fight him.

Ben Askren responds to plans he’s fighting Jorge Masvidal next: ‘I said yes, he doesn’t want to do it’

On Thursday, Masvidal took to Instagram to respond to Edwards and Masvidal, though he used some colorful language to describe them rather than even say their names.

According to Masvidal, it was Askren who allegedly showed he was afraid by avoiding him at a hotel. He also mocked the former ONE champion’s debut, a controversial first-round technical submission win against Robbie Lawler at UFC 235 that Lawler and UFC president Dana White believe was called too early.

“Hello everybody, I’m back stateside, enjoying my little vacation. And I’m coming back and man, I’ve got so much groupie love. I can’t believe it,” Masvidal said. “I got these two little sluts, you might know ‘em or you might not. One’s from England, one’s from some suburb where it’s — I don’t know, I don’t give a f*ck — calling me out. One’s not in the top-10 and the other that is hasn’t got a victory in the UFC. Didn’t make the dude tap — Robbie Lawler — and didn’t put him to sleep, but you think you have a win in the UFC. Who are you fooling?

“You can fool the crowd, but you can’t fool me, playboy. Because when I seen you in the hotel, what did you do? You ran away like a little bitch when I tried to talk to you. And you were, ‘Aw, I wish you good luck, and we’ll talk after your fight,’ and I was pretty ready to slap you up if you said anything disrespectful. Thank goodness you didn’t. And you walked away. So what do I care to fight you or the other guy? I’ll let my management decide. You keep hitting me up all you want though, your little sluts, you know? (blows kiss). If I see you in the street and you talking though… (laughs)”

It didn’t take long for Askren to respond to the comments on Twitter.

“Boldfaced lie about hotel interaction, many witnesses to confirm,” Askren wrote. “If you need to lie to make yourself feel good then that’s fine just don’t be scared to sign the contract!”
