Joshua vs Pulev: Showtime to air fight in United States

Anthony Joshua’s next title defense is coming to Showtime.

Anthony Joshua’s IBF and WBA heavyweight title defense against Kubrat Pulev will air in the United States on Showtime, as expected, and will be part of back-to-back Saturdays on the network with heavyweight title fights.

Deontay Wilder will defend his WBC belt against Luis Ortiz the following Saturday, November 4.

Joshua (19-0, 19 KO) is coming off of a Fight of the Year type win over Wladimir Klitschko on April 29 at Wembley Stadium. A rematch was expected initially, but Klitschko instead retired from the sport in early August.

Now, he takes on Pulev (25-1, 13 KO), a Bulgarian contender whose only loss came against Klitschko in 2014.

“There’s so much to be excited about in the sport of boxing, and it all comes to a fever pitch on consecutive Saturdays this fall on Showtime,” said Stephen Espinoza, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Showtime Sports.

“This has been a great year for boxing. More specifically, it has been a great year for Showtime boxing. There’s no better way to end it than with two major heavyweight world championship events. We are proud to be in business with the two biggest punchers in the sport, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, and the rest of the talented and hungry heavyweight challengers of today.”
