Junco fights Indian Singh for PBF middleweight title

DAVAO CITY — Edsil “Toto” Junco of Iloilo will fight Indian Prabhjot “Punjabi Lion” Singh for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) middleweight title on Aug. 3 at the Brgy. Vergara covered court in Mandaluyong City.The 33-year old Junco (3W-12L-7D) settled a majority draw with Mark Sales of Gen. Santos City last Feb. 16 in Taytay City. Junco won a unanimous decision against Jerry Kalaw of Batangas last May 13, 2018.
He, however lost to Roberto Gonzales of Batangas by a UD last Oct. 27.Singh, who is residing in Bulacan already has seven wins against four loses and one draw. He won the vacant LuzProba super welterweight title by a technical knockout over Jason Catalino of Benguet in 2016.Singh, however lost all four last bouts starting with Dennis Padua of Nueva Ecija by a TKO in the 1st round in the battle for the Philippine welterweight title last Feb. 11, 2017.Singh then lost by a TKO to Nick Frese of Australia by Round 5 in Hong Kong last Oct. 7. He again suffered another TKO loss to Chinese Mielifeier Dalielibieke in a 5th round last March 20, 2018.Singh suffered his last defeat by a majority decision to Ador Torres of Sorsogon last March 8, 2019.The “Showdown in Mandaluyong” is promoted by Brico Santig of the Highland International Boxing Promotion in coordination with the Mandaluyong City.
