Former champion Kell Brook (39-2, 27 KO’s) looked impressive dropping and stopping in three chapters American Mark DeLuca (24-2, 13 KO’s) to claim the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Super Welterweight Title Saturday, February 8, at the Sheffield Arena in England.
The 33-year-old Brook rocked DeLuca, 31, two times to the canvas before the uneven battle was halted by veteran Lancashire third man Phil Edwards at the 1:15 minute mark in round 3.
Tonight’s win positions well the Sheffield-native for a possible new shot at a high-profiled world title.
