Krzysztof Glowacki survives scare in Poland

Glowacki’s opponent had just six pro fights

Krzysztof Glowacki has been on something of a rehab tour since his loss to Oleksandr Usyk, taking on limited opposition in Europe. The latest fight against 6-0 Serhiy Rachenko proved significantly more hazardous than anticipated, as Glowacki had to get off the canvas from a savage flurry in the fifth before winning the decision.

You can watch highlights of the fight here. The moment in question happens a little past the 3:50 mark.

Glowacki (29-1, 18 KO) stands alongside Denis Lebedev as the top cruiserweight not in the World Boxing Super Series, has some dangerous waters ahead of him if he wants to reclaim a world title. I’d be down to see him fight any of the eight tournament competitors or possibly Maxim Vlasov, who’s right next to him in each sanctioning body’s rankings.

The card also saw one of those competitors, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (54-4-1, 38 KO), get back in the win column with a second-round finish of journeyman Adam Gadajew (17-15, 8 KO).
