LAS PINAS TKOS BONGCAWIL IN 7TH ROUND

SUPER featherweight Rey Las Pinas landed telling blows to stop an overweight Ryan Bongcawil in the 7th round last Sunday at the Barangay Bagong Pag-asa in Quezon City.
Las Pinas improved his record to 22 wins against 15 losses and 6 draws while Bongcawil, who failed to make the weight limit, suffered his 12th defeat against 8 wins and 6 draws.
Meanwhile, flyweight Melvin Manangquil (3-3-2) escaped with a split decision against Manny Mamamcqiao (1-11-1) while another flyweight Maurito Placios Jr. finally scored his first win after eight straight losses by stopping Aaron Lozano (0-3-0) in the second round via technical knockout.
In the curtain raiser, featherweight Rex Legane also finally scored his first win after four setbacks by a majority decision against former undefeated Freddie Gomera (2-1-0).
The boxing card was presented by the Highland Boxing Promotions of Brico Santig.
