Another mixed martial artist from the Philippines will join the ONE Championship roster, as Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang impressed throughout his run on Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS).

The strawweight star from Team Lakay was offered a six-figure contract to compete on the global stage after his defeat of Anthony “The Antidote” Do in the main event of OWS 7 on Tuesday, 6 August.

That victory, which the 26-year-old earned via unanimous decision in Singapore, was his third in the world’s largest martial arts organization’s home for the top up-and-coming athletes in Asia.

“Lito, the 10th ONE Championship contract winner, has had the toughest match-ups since he joined ONE Warrior Series, and never disappointed with his performances,” said Franklin, CEO of ONE Warrior Series.

“If you are in ONE Championship’s strawweight division, take note of this guy because he’s coming to shake things up!”

Adiwang was featured in the second season of the show, and then he kicked off his competitive OWS campaign with a first-round knockout of Phuket Top Team’s Manuel “Tick” Huerta last October.

He followed that with a 45-second stoppage of Alber Correia Da Silva in February, and then he returned and went the distance with Do on the latest live event to improve his record to 9-2.

“Lito always put on the most exciting performances every time he stepped into the ONE Warrior Series ring. In fact, he’s even won a Warrior Bonus in every appearance, which is a testament to his abilities,” said Jonathan Fong, Director of ONE Warrior Series.

“With Lito moving on to ONE Championship, no doubt the already-stacked strawweight division will take notice of his power and explosiveness. Look for him to make an immediate impact as soon as he gets the call.”

In addition to that, Adiwang, Do, Dave Bangguigui, Caitlin McEwan, and Michael Walker all received a Warrior Bonus for their incredible performances at the event.

Adiwang is now set to compete in the world’s largest martial arts organization, and in the same division as his teammate – ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion”
