If Marlon Moraes was searching for his signature moment in the UFC, he found it on Saturday.
In the first round of his bantamweight bout with Aljamain Sterling at UFC Fresno, the former World Series of Fighting Champion landed a sickening knee on Sterling’s jaw that left the New Yorker splayed out on the canvas. Moraes walked away, knowing right away that the bout was over, and the referee officially waved it off at the 67-second mark.
Moraes (20-5-1) picks up his first knockout win since signing with the UFC this past April, while Sterling (14-3) was finished for the first time in his career.
