Rising undefeated prospect Matias “La Cobrita” Rueda of Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina has signed a multi-year promotional deal with Tuto Zabala’s All Star Boxing, Inc and is ready to invade the US market. Rueda (28) is ranked #2 by the WBO, is the current WBO Latino Champion and spoils an impressive record of 26-0, with 23 KOs.
“I’m thrilled to have signed with Tuto’s company, him together with Mario Margossian of Argentina Boxing Promotions will take my career to another level in the United States,” said an enthusiastic Rueda. He is scheduled to face fellow undefeated prospect Oscar Valdez of Mexico on July 23 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the vacant WBO featherweight title previously held by Vasyl Lomanchenko.
“We had Matias on a Boxeo Telemundo show last October and he looked impressive, working with him and longtime friend Mario Margossian made it a no brainer, he will be the next World Champion of Argentina,” said Zabala. The bout presented by Top Rank in association with All Star Boxing, Inc and Argentina Boxing Promotions will be televised on HBO PPV in the US and TYC in Argentina.
