Mauricio Herrera (22-6, 7 KOs) and Pablo Cesar Cano (29-5-1, 21 KOs) will go head-to-head on November 18th, with Golden Boy matchmaker Robert Diaz breaking the news to RingTV. Herrera-Cano will be a scheduled for 10-rounds of welterweight action at the Fantasy Springs in Indio, CA.
Both Herrera and Cano are former interim titlists who are coming off losses in their last fight. Herrera was basically whitewashed by Frankie Gomez back in May in a pretty awful performance and won a technical decision over Hank Lundy before that (which I thought was a pretty raw deal for Lundy). Meanwhile, Cano is most recently coming off a split decision loss to Alan Sanchez earlier this year and is 3-4 in his last seven fights (discounting one no contest against Juan Carlos Abreu). So this is basically something of a crossroads fight for the two veterans and they both pretty much know it.
“My career could potentially be on the line here,” said Herrera, who has wins over Henry “Hank” Lundy, Mike Dallas Jr. and Johan Perez. “My last fight against Gomez was a wake-up call. I know that I have a lot on the line.”
For those of you with even a modicum of interest in this fight, RingTVLive.com will be airing the entire card live from their website starting at 5:30pm PT.
