Mauricio Sulaiman talked online with The WBA Super Fly world champion, Nicaraguan Román “Chocolatito” González, and the WBC world champion Flyweight Mexican Julio César “Rey” Martínez.

The 2 champions will share the stage this Friday at the TV Azteca studios in Ciudad de México, starring in two of the three world championship fights that will be presented by Zanfer Promotions and Matchroom Boxing.

The fantastic show will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN and ESPN.

The “Chocolatito” (49-2, 41 KO’s), one of history’s best boxers in minor divisions, and world champion in four weigh-classes, will make the first defense of his WBA Superfly world championship, against the Mexican 🇲🇽 Israel ” Jiga ”González (25-3, 11 KO’s).

MeanWhile “El Rey” Julio César Martínez (16-1, 12 KO’s) will make the third defense of his WBC Fly world title against compatriot Moisés “Taz” Calleros (33-9-1, 17 KO’s), in what will be a highly disputed duel between Mexican fighters.

The stellar fight on Friday will be the second defense made by Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada (40-3, 27 KO’s) of his WBC super fly world championship in a rematch against Sinaloa former world champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras (39-3-1, 27 KO’s).

CONFIDENCE AND MOTIVATION

“Chocolatito” and “Rey” were the special guests at the virtual conference “Martes de Café” of World Boxing Council president don Mauricio Sulaiman, attended by a large number of international press representatives.

Chocolatito González, who will fight for the seventh time in Mexican territory, expressed his appreciation for the treatment he has received in this nation, and said that he has not sought to earn the nickname of “murderer of Mexicans.”

“I have had to face many Mexicans because in the minor divisions because the Mexicans and the Japanese, are the best in the world, and we have had very great battles.

“I expect next Friday to be very competitive, but I am very well prepared to offer a great fight and retain the belt ”, said Chocolatito, who thanked promotion companies Zanfer and Matchroom Boxing for making this Friday’s show featuring 3 world championships in Mexico.

About his rival, “Jiga” González, Chocolatito said that he has seen him fight and that he is a tough fighter who is motivated to go for a world championship in his country, and that he will leave everything in the ring to achieve the feat.

For his part, “El Rey” Martínez said that his concentration at the Otomí Ceremonial Center allowed him to have a full preparation. He shared that he is already very close to weight two days before getting on the scale.
