MAURICIO SULAIMAN THROWS FIRST PITCH AT PADRES OF SAN DIEGO MATCH AND PRESENTS WBC BELT TO THE CHAMPION MICKEY GARCIA

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman threw the first pitch of the San Diego Padres baseball game vs. Los Angeles Dodgers in San Diego’s Petco Park.

Mauricio played for much of his Youth in the “Vagabundos” team, affiliated to the Lindavista League of Baseball in Mexico City which was led by his father Don José Sulaimán. He was selected to participate in the youth world championship  baseball  in Panama in 1981. He played diverse positions in the field, especially  pitcher.

In this  same  event,  Mauricio presented the WBC lightweight champion, Mickey Garcia with his belt.    Mickey  became a three-time world champion in January, after knocking out Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin in the third round.
