Moloney to defend WBA super flyweight against Franco
By Lito delos Reyes
New World Boxing Association super flyweight champion Andrew “The Monster” Moloney of Australia will defend his title against American Joshua “El Profesor” Franco on June 23 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The undefeated Moloney (21W-0L, 14KO) has sacrificed so much to get to this point.
In his last fight, Moloney retired Elton Dharry of Guyana in the 8th round to win the interim WBA super flyweight title in Melbourne last Nov. 15.
Franco (16W-1L-2D, 8KO), on the other hand, stopped Jose Alejadro Burgos of Mexico in the 8th round last Jan. 11 in San Antonio.
