England`s Joe Joyce is risking his World Boxing Council Silver heavyweight title against the battle-hardened Cameroonian fighter Carlos Takam this Saturday, July 24 at the SSE Arena, Wembley, England.
Joe Joyce (12-0, 11 KOs) is back in action for the first time since his impressive 10th round win over Daniel Dubois last November.
And Takam (39-5-1, 28 knockouts) comes from defeating Jerry Forrest by unanimous decision in July of last year.
So, both fighters were face to face and audaciously cheek to jowl at a final press conference, where each promised victory. But once the dust has settled, only one will have won.
Joyce commented that he is determined to get a big win over Takam, by successfully defending his WBC Silver title, clearly demonstrating and underlining that he belongs close to the top of the biggest division.
Takam is no stranger to British shores. He`ll fight in the United Kingdom for the fourth time, with everything at stake on this occasion, determined to achieve a huge shock!
