The super hot rematch/unification war between the WBA/IBF bantamweight world champion Naoya Inoue and Filipino WBC king Nonito Donaire is being currently negotiated to unfold in April in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan.

Donaire’s promoter, Richard Schaefer of Probellum, shared with fans that he is actively negotiating the matchup with Inoue’s promoter, the veteran hall-of-famer Akihiko Honda, boss and owner of the legendary Teiken Promotions.

“This is definitely a fight that we would love to do and Nonito would love to have it too,” says Schaefer, a former successful Swiss banker whose passion for boxing made him forget about banks and focus on making thrilling fights.

Richard added: “We have no problem on going to Japan. Donaire has the balls to get back into the lion’s den.”

Is that so?

“Oh yes, plus this is one of the biggest fights you can do in the sport of boxing,” Richard affirms confidently.

“I can’t speak for Inoue, but I think that’s the fight Inoue wants too.

“I’ve always believed that when there’s a great fight to be made, you need to make it, and this is a great fight.

“So I will exhaust all resources and leave no stone unturned to carry out this fight,” Richard ended up saying.

If this exciting duel materializes, as Richard works on it, the 28-year-old Inoue would arrive to the fight with a unblemished, perfect record of 22-0 with 19 KOs, one of the top P4P in the world.

Meanwhile, the veteran 39-year-old Donaire – born in the Visayas sunny paradise of Bohol – would get into the match with numbers of 42 wins, 6 defeats, and 28 KOs.

Both super hot, big-heart warriors delivered for fans a battle that earned the “Fight of the Year Award” when they fought on Nov 7, 2019 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

That super awesome modern classic rumble was the final match of the “World Boxing Super Series” tournament.

After a truly intense 12-rounds of pure action, the Japanese Inoue defeated Nonito Donaire with a well-deserved unanimous decision win with scores of 116-111-116, 114-113 and 117-109-117.
Inoue won.

But the handsome Japanese suffered a broken check bone. Oouuchh, how about Nonito’s power!!

Will Inoue vs Donaire 2 be as intense and riveting and thrilling as the first one two years ago???

Are Inoue and Donaire the very best 118-pound champions in the world today??
