Rungvisai vs Cuadras 2 for WBC-115 World Title Feb 5 live on DAZN

Former Thai world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai will fight in a revenge duel Mexican former world champ, Carlos Cuadras for the vacant WBC super flyweight world title on Saturday, February 5, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

The fight, which is promoted by Matchroom Boxing, will be televised on DAZN.

The duel between Rungvisai and Cuadras is a fight between former world champions, in which they even faced each other and the winner turned out to be the Mexican in 2014.

so now Cuadras will try to repeat the same dose so as to recover his status of world monarch… so a quite attractive and exciting fight is expected.

There is more than just the WBC crown at stake for Rungvisai (50-5-1 43 KOs) and Cuadras (39-4-1 27 KOs) because the winner will likely face the winner of the March clash between Juan Francisco Estrada. and Román ‘Chocolatito’ González, setting up more fireworks in the always exciting 115-pound division.

“I really want to win this championship fight,” Rungvisai said. “I am looking forward to becoming Thailand’s first three-time WBC champion. I also have a pending issue with Juan Francisco Estrada.”

Rungvisai will enter this world combat with three wins in Thailand after his clash with Estrada.

Victory in the rematch in Phoenix would see the 35-year-old win the green and gold strap for the third time and nearly nine years since he first picked up that crown.

Cuadras was the one who ended Rungvisai’s reign with the Mexican making six title defenses before Chocolatito took the crown in California in September 2016.

It is the second time the 33-year-old has attempted to regain the throne and he comes from his last battle for the belt, where he knocked down defending champion Estrada in the third round before the champion prevailed in Mexico in October 2020.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to fight for another world title,” said Cuadras.

“We are training 3-4 different southpaws who have a similar style to Rungvisai. We are ready to win, and I am training very well in the high mountains of the Otomi training Center in Mexico.”

“Srisaket and Carlos promise to be another brilliant battle for the super flyweight world title,” said promoter Eddie Hearn.

“Carlos Cuadras outboxed Srisaket in his first fight 7 years ago, and I have no doubt this will be a true fan-friendly war with a lot on the line.”

Will Srisaket Sor Rungvisai get revenge over Cuadras for taking his belt years ago???

Or will Carlos defeat Srisaket one more time sending back to Thailand empty-handed?

Soon we’ll know!!
