On March 13, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Juan Francisco Gallo Estrada and Román Chocolatito Gonzélez met after almost 9 years, leading to one of the most brilliant fights of 2021.

Estrada was narrowly defeated in the first fight of 2012, and in this 2021 bout, he prevailed by split decision, successfully defending his WBC super flyweight title.

Matchroom Boxing leader, promoter Eddie Hearn, who was present in Mexico to witness WBC flyweight champion Julio César “Rey” Martínez bout, confirmed that he is working on making this fight happen.

“We are working to announce this fight and only a few details are missing. “Gallo” Estrada vs “Chocolatito” González trilogy will almost certainly be on October 16 in Los Angeles.

“Most likely at the Forum or the Staples Center. We will be able to provide more details in the coming weeks,” said Hearn.
