FILIPINO boxing promoters and managers made history by finally forming their own group Wednesday night to help themselves and to further help the development of professional boxing in the country.
They formed their group as the Philippine Promoters and Managers Association (PPMA) during an election held Jan. 25 at the Elorde Sports Center in Sukat, Paranaque City.
Elected as Chairman was Lope “Jun” Sarreal Jr. of Quezon City while as President was Dante Almario of Muntinlupa.
Cebu’s Sammy Gello-Ani is the Vice-President while the Secretary is Jun Gandeza of Batangas.
The other officers are Gerry Garcia of Cubao as Treasurer, Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil of General Santos City as Public Relations Officer and Juan Monis of Valenzuela as Auditor.
The members are Brico Santig of La Trinidad, Benguet, Call Williams, Orlando Bolcelaro of Cavite and Prince Sy Su of Pangasinan.
More than 20 attended the event including host Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr.
