Four Pinoy boxers led by former World Boxing Organization World super flyweight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes lost all to their Japanese opponents at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Japan.

The 40-year-old Nietes was the last one to suffer defeat as he failed to beat reigning WBO World super flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka by a unanimous decision.

All the three judges scored in favor of Ioka, 118-110, 117-111 and 120-108.

Nietes was not the same as he was when they first encountered each other in Macao last December 31, 2018 wherein Nietes won by a split decision. Nietes also suffered a bad cut in the left eye in the 10th round. He had his second loss against 43 wins, six draws and 23 knockouts.

The 33-year-old Ioka won his 5th title-defense to improve his record to 29 wins with 15 knockouts against two setbacks.

Three other Pinoy boxers also failed in the undercard.

Presco “The Iceman” Carcosia bowed to ex-OPBF title holder Musashi Mori, Froilan “The Sniper” Saludar down to former WBC flyweight champion Daigo Higa while Jhon Gemino was beaten by Hayato Tsutsumi.

Takuya Kiya of Shisei Promotions is the promoter.
