Miami, Florida. — Sanman super bantamweight prospect “Magic” Mike Plania now (W21 KO11 L1 D0) dominated Argentinian opponent Matias Agustin Arriagada en route to a unanimous decision victory. It was a shutout schooling done by the Filipino Plania and the judges scored it identically 60-52 in favor of the Sanman boxing mainstay.
Plania started strong and immediately unleashed his relentless attack
dropping the Argentinian in the opening round. Sensing danger, Arriagada retreated and survived the round. The rest of the rounds were all Plania aggression and his opponent just trying to stay alive every round. It was in round six that Plania dropped Arriagada
again but the Argentinian was able to last the fight.
Plania expressed his
frustration. “I badly wanted to knock him out. I tried to cut him and corner him but he was playing to survive. I was expecting him to go toe to toe. I was chasing him the whole time. I could have stopped him but I am happy with the win. I am praying for a
title fight next”, Plania stated.
Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil was contented with his ward’s performance. “Mike keeps on improving. You cannot knock out an opponent who doesn’t want to engage, so I cannot blame my fighter. He did everything he was told and stuck to the game plan. We’ll see if we can arrange a title fight next for him. Maybe notable regional belt then on to world title belt.”
