WBA#14 lightweight George Kambosos (11-0, 9 KO’s) talked to Fightnews.com about his win over WBA#12 Brendon Ogilivie on Friday and his recent time in the USA working with Justin Fortune and sparring world rated Sergey Lipinets and Andrey Klimoy and offer to work as a Manny Pacquiao sparring partner

Congrats on a great win over Ogilivie. You were supremely confident of victory?
I know my abilities and I know how hard I train. There is no one who trains harder than myself. I live this lifestyle and I take this sport seriously. My hands and combinations were always going to be to fast for Ogilivie. Everything came off the way we said we were going to do it.

Ogilivie was a big step up in class and he had some very good performances in Japan and in Australia?
I knew he had boxed good quality guys but I knew I had good wins also over Robert Toomey and Joebert Reyes.

You had Ogilivie in trouble in round two also round six and round nine.. Did you think you could stop him?
I knew I had him in trouble in those rounds and he was hurt several times during the fight when I connected with clean shots but he is a tough fighter and recovered. Full credit to Brendon. We come through the amateurs together
We boxed three times previously. I defeated him for the Australian Golden Gloves but he defeated me on two other occasions that were close in Australian amateur title bouts in 2009 and 2010.I knew it would be diferent in the pro ranks over twelve rounds. I got him where it counts over twelve rounds.

Are you now focused on a world title shot against WBA champion Jorge Linares, IBF champion Robert Easter or WBO champion Terry Flanagan?
We were focused on Crolla but now on Linares but we have time as I am only 23 years. We will just go step by step. We have some big things happening.

You have been in the USA recently training with Justin Fortune who works with Manny Pacquiao. Who were your sparring partners?
I was sparring Sergey Lipinets who is boxing Lenny Zappavigna soon in a IBF Eliminator and I was absolutely giving it to him. Justin was freaking out. Justin said he didn’t realise Australia had this talent. Andrey Klimoy who is trained by
Buddy McGirt and went the distance with Terrence Crawford was another sparring partner. I won all the sparring sessions and that is why I was so confident for this fight against Ogilivie. I knew I was on the right road for this fight. We also sparred at Freddie Roach’s gym – The Wild Card gym. Freddie wanted me as a sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao for his bout with Vargas. They wanted me stay three weeks. I was going to get paid and accommodation and flights included
I was in the USA for eight weeks

Who were your sparring partners in Australia?
Daniel Geale, Tommy Browne and Jack Brubaker who is close to world class as a welterweight. Jack is right up there on the world stage.

Former IBF 140 pound champion Lovemore Ndou worked with you as a sparring partner and predicted you have the skills to be a world champion. Your thoughts?
We had some good sparring sessions with Lovemore and now he is a lawyer he will be doing all my contracts in future.
He has a great reputation in Sydney as one of the best lawyers in this city.

Aussie IBF#2 Jeff Horn could be a future Manny Pacquiao opponent. Have you any thoughts moving up to fight as a welterweight?
Jeff Horn is another Aussie making a name for himself on the world stage. Who knows if I move up to welterweight we could see a Kambosos v Horn world title bout. I know I will be a future world champion.
