Rob Brant reportedly near deal with Top Rank

The middleweight contender has also heard offers from DAZN.

Rob Brant, who won the WBA “world” middleweight title in October with a stunningly dominant decision over Ryota Murata, is reportedly close to a new co-promotional deal with Top Rank, according to ESPN.

Brant (24-1, 16 KO) is currently promoted by Greg Cohen, who would stay in the picture. Dan Rafael reports that Eddie Hearn and DAZN have also been in the mix for Brant’s services, but it looks like he’ll go with Top Rank.

The 28-year-old has made himself a serious middleweight contender with that win over Murata (14-2, 11 KO), who has a few more weeks to decide if he wants to exercise his rematch clause.

Either way that goes, it looks like we’ll be seeing Brant on the ESPN networks going forward. He’s a potentially interesting matchup for a lot of fighters, but a Top Rank deal could in all reality limit the scope of his options pretty substantially. Still, if it’s the best offer, it’s the best offer.
