Satoshi to fight Musashi for unification bout

Satoshi Shimizu will fight Musashi Mori for a unification bout on May 21 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Satoshi will defend his Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation featherweight title while Musashi will stake his Worl Boxing Organization Asia Pacific featherweight title.

Satoshi (9W-1L-0D, 9KOs) retained his title by a TKO on the 7th round over Kyohei Tonomoto last July 16, 2020, at Korakuen.

It was the 5th title defense by Satoshi, who earned the crown over Sa Myung Noh of South Korea via a 5th round TKO last 2017 in Korea.

The 35-year-old Satoshi suffered his only setback from Joe Noynay of Cebu by a TKO in the 6th round for the WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title last July 7, 2019, at EDION Arena.

Musashi (12W-0L-0D, 7KOs), on the other hand, recently TKO’d Tsuyoshi Tameda in the 118th round to retain the WBO Asia Pacific title for 3rd time last Nov. 28, 2020, at Korakuen.

The 21-year-old Musashi won the title by a technical decision over Richard Pumicpic of Pasay in the 5th round last 2018 in Kariya.

The promoter is Hideyuki Ohashi of Phoenix Promotions.
