Teraji to defend title against Hisada

Undefeated Kenshiro “The Amazing Boy” Teraji of Kyoto will defend his World Boxing Council World light flyweight title against Tetsuya Hisada of Osaka on April 24 at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.

The 29-year-old Teraji (17W-OL) retained his title for the 7th time by stopping Randy Petalcorin of Davao City in the 4th round last Dec. 23, 2019, at Arena in Yokohama, Japan.

Teraji grabbed the WBC World light flyweight title from Ganigan Lopez of Mexico by a majority decision last May 20, 2017 at the Ariake Colosseum.

Teraji then defended the crown first against Pedro Guevara of Mexico by a majority decision last Oct. 22, 2017, in Kokugikan.

He later TKO’d Gilberto Pedroza of Panama in the 4th round last Dec. 30, 2017, at Bunka Gym in Yokohama before making a knockout over Lopez in the 2nd round in their rematch last May 25, 2018, at Ota-City General Gym.

Teraji also beat Milan Melindo of Cagayan de Oro (TKO 7th round), Saul Juarez of Mexico (unanimous decision), and Jonathan Taconing of Zamboanga (TKO 4th round) to retain his title.

Hisada (34W-10L-2D, 20KOs), on the other hand, lost to Hiroto Kyoguchi by a unanimous decision for the WBA super world light flyweight title last Oct. 1, 2019, at EDION Arena.

Hisada was formerly the Japanese light flyweight champion in 2017-2018.

The bubble boxing event is promoted by Masato Yamashita of Shinsei Promotions.
