“I felt good, felt strong,” said WBC/WBO super lightweight world champion Terence Crawford after dominating and stopping John Molina late Saturday night in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. “I’m happy to fight because it helps folks afford the fight, they don’t have to worry about flights, budgets, et cetera.

What was your plan?

The plan was to outbox him, turn him, catch him coming in. We knew he was dangerous.

How do you rate your 2016?

I mean, yeah, I had three of the better fights. I stopped Lundy earlier than anyone else, I fought a guy that most people wouldn’t face and closed it out with a knockout.

Why are you so passionate about obtaining the other belts in the division?

I’ve always been that way. I want people to say ‘There goes Terence, he’s not just one of the champions in the division…he has all the belts.’

Did you feel disrespected by your opponent not making the weight?

No, not it all, it happens in the sport. I was too focused on the task at hand.

Will we ever see Terence Crawford miss weight?

No, never. My team would never allow this. We prepare and work hard, each and every time.

Did you ever consider canceling the fight?

No, never. We put all the work in, sparring, and at the end of the days we have always fought guys bigger than me. Why would we ever consider not fighting here in Omaha, the place that help build me?
