TWO MINPROBA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN TAGUM NOV. 25

TWO championship fights both in the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProBA) will be held at the University of Mindanao Gym in Tagum City on November 25, Saturday at 6 p.m.
This was announced by promoter Engr. Jilson Basang of MB Northstar Promotions, who is also the president of MinProBA.
Former MinProBA featherweight champion Holly Quinones (3W-8L-1D) of Sarangani Province will fight JP Macadumpis (11W-10L-1D, 3 KOs) of Gen. Santos City for the vacant featherweight title while Jovany “The Miner” Rota (9W-12L-0D, 6 KOs) of Davao City takes on Alvin Makiling (10W-14L-4D, 3 KOs) of Tupi, South Cotabato for the vacant super lightweight crown.
The double MinProBA championship is part of “The Redemption” boxing event co-promoted by MB Northstar and RATIM Sports Promotion in coordination with the Maco Golden Valley Eagles Club and the Tagum Cirque of Shooters Inc.
The 29-year old Rota is coming from a unanimous decision loss to Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) lightweight champion Rosekie Cristobal last September 15 in Panabo City.
Makiling also bowed to Cristobal via a 6th round technical knockout in their battle for the vacant PBF lightweight title last May 12 in Davao City.
“This is a good match-up since both are hungry to win,” said Basang.
Quinones, on the other hand, stopped Rocky Alvarez via a 4th round TKO to capture the vacant MinProBA super featherweight title last May 5 in Maitum, while Macadumpis was previously stopped by Neil John Tabanao in the first round last October 13 in Calbayog City.
The two championships are part of “The Redemption” boxing card co-promoted by the RATIM Sports Promotion and MB Northstar Promotion in coordination with the Maco Golden Valley Eagles Club and the Tagum Cirque of Shooters Inc. (LITO DELOS REYES)
