Godofredo Pepey’s run in the UFC has come to an end.
The 30-year-old featherweight, who joined the promotion through the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil in 2012, has parted ways with the company after his contract expired following his loss to Mirsad Bektic in January, MMA Fighting has learned.
Pepey (13-6) went 5-6 in less than six years as a UFC fighter, and leaves the promotion on a two-fight losing skid to Bektic and Shane Burgos. Pepey scored some impressive finishes in the UFC, pocketing three straight “Performance of the Night” bonuses with the stoppages of Noad Lahat,Dashon Johnson and Andre Fili.
A 14-year veteran of the sport, Pepey went 3-0 during the UFC’s reality show, including a pair of submission finishes, but lost a decision to Rony Jason in the featherweight final at UFC 147 in June 2012.
With Pepey’s departure, Sergio Moraes, Cezar Ferreira and Francisco Trinaldo remain the last three TUF Brazil 1 veterans still on the UFC roster.
