UFC’s Paige VanZant to be featured in Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue

Paige VanZant, the popular UFC fighter, will be featured in Sports Illustrated’s famed Swimsuit Issue, it was announced Thursday by SI on Instagram. Sports Illustrated posted a video of VanZant doing a swimsuit shoot in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. VanZant will be featured under the athletes category of the magazine, which will publish in May.

VanZant, 24, joins Ronda Rousey as the only UFC fighters to be featured in the annual Swimsuit Issue. “12 Gauge” is no stranger to making headlines outside the Octagon. She was on “Dancing With The Stars” two years ago and published an autobiography, “Rise: Surviving the Fight of My Life,” last year.

Last week, VanZant announce she had re-fractured her arm after coming back from that same injury earlier this year. She posted Wednesday on Instagram that she’s likely to be out of contact training for a month.

VanZant (8-4) returned from that initial broken arm to beat Rachael Ostovich at UFC Brooklyn back in January. It was the UFC’s first-ever card on ESPN and ESPN+. The victory snapped a two-fight losing streak and got VanZant her first UFC victory in the flyweight division.
