WBC AMATEUR GREEN BELT CHALLENGE, LAS VEGAS

 This past weekend all focused on Las Vegas and the Boxing World the WBC Amateur Green Belt Challenge took the town by storm.

The theme was UNITY and it shone . Teams from all over took over the Las Vegas Labor Union building with hopes and dreams of qualifying for the WBC Amateur Green Belt.

The first of a two part event was packed with excitement from the start as day one was starting .The WBC Champions Mia St.John and Thomas the Hitman Hearns’ arrival  had the crowd chering.

Several of the WBC and other Champions filled the event with fun .Dewayne Beamon, ArthurWiliams, Jessie Burrett, Jessie Reid Jr, Crystal Morales, Fernando Esparza, Max Ornelas, Randy Moreno, Jessie Magdelano, Diego Magdelano and even a surprise Guest Referee Robert Byrd from the Mayweather fight joined in  and delighted all who attended.

This was a totally free event to all contestants and attendees with children activities of face painting and ballon artist on hand to entertain even the youngest  of fans.

The IMAKO team was on hand to give awards, plus motivate the young fighters. Joe Banalas of North las Vegas Center Ring Boxing worked tirelessly to make safe fun and even matches.The Labor Union #872 of Las Vegas made sure it all ran smooth. While the Center Ring  families got together to provide plenty of delicious food and treats for all.

Shannon Torres Gilman the Nevada WBC Cares Ambassador and Founder of Catch a fish couldn’t have been prouder or more delighted with the event she worked so hard to bring to the community.

This was a knockout success with everyone wanting more.The dedication of all those invoveled  was a shining example of UNITY and community pride.The U.S.A. Boxing officials, judges and volunteers were superb examples of what is so great about the Amateur boxing world.The motto “Your Hearts are Gold our Blood is Green” was brought alive by the efforts and love shown by everyone.
