When You Talk Boxing, You’re Talking Mayweather

Swift isn’t the appropriate alias for Jarrett Hurd. April 7th, 2018 was his night, and we’re all looking forward to his next step. Hurd has earned his own article, but it’ll be saved for another day.

When Floyd Mayweather wants to stir the pot – he grabs attention. Todd DuBoef and Top Rank’s mention during his interview with Jim Gray, grabbed mine. Vasyl Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis? The proposal of that fight speaks volumes.

Mayweather showed these fighters how to be successful. His blueprint will be replicated by different athletes, in different sports, time and time again. A guy who fought every opponent at the most opportune time for himself, knows what he’s doing here. Gervonta has been out of pocket, and Floyd is putting him in his place. Tank has the ball in his court right now. Is it a bad look to duck Lomachenko, or is letting the fight brew a good business decision? Your opinion will answer that question, but the fact is Davis isn’t ready for Loma. Maybe Tank can lighten up on his shots, and only dig to the body in the first half of the fight. He loads up – saying the kid can crack isn’t enough because Tank’s punching power is off the charts. The southpaw vs. southpaw matchup might help him in early spots, but the body would be his best bet. Loma would counter over the top, use his movement, and angles to wash Davis out of the ring. Too much too soon.

Check out The Boxing Clinic on YouTube, he posted a great video discussing the topic. ” If he wasn’t ready for Pedraza, he damn sure isn’t ready for No Mas Chenko.” It seems to be a popular opinion. He talks about Mayweather trying to mold this kid into a star, but Tank hasn’t responded as of late. He goes into detail on this whole situation. He gets into what kind of options Tank would have if he chose to back away from Lomachenko. Eddie Hearn was mentioned. The future looks bright for Danny Jacobs since signing with Hearn’s company. Gervonta would be a nice addition to their roster, and Hearn has the money to make it happen. That’s all on the back burner for now, Tank has to take care of business on the 21st, against Jesus Cuellar. The WBA super featherweight title is up for grabs at the Barclays center.

The fighters associated with Mayweather Promotions will take notice of Tank’s fall out. You can roll with Floyd or The Money Team will roll over on you. The statement has been made. Richardson Hitchins is the fighter I’m curious about. The super lightweight from Brooklyn, is also on the 21st card. This will be his second fight this year after three fights in his first twelve months as a pro. They should bounce him from the big Vegas cards to the Barclays. From the Barclays back to Vegas. Hitchins will always have Brooklyn locked down, and he has what it takes to build a fan base in the fight capitol as well. If he stays healthy, then they should have no problem keeping him active. If you haven’t heard of Richardson Hitchins, you’ll remember his name as he comes up in the game.

Floyd Mayweather has had the world of boxing in the palm of his hand since 2007. Nothing has changed. Mayweather Promotions could have that same grip. Minor adjustments need to be made, and Floyd knows what they are. He’s not willing to step out of the way yet, but when he finally is – Floyd Mayweather will have the True Money Team. Until then, you can talk about his budding MMA career.
