“Wizard of Oz” spells out fight date for Barby Vs Jackie

Mariana Juarez and Jackie Nava firmly agree that they want an October mega fight, to dramatically show once and for all, who`s the best woman bantamweight boxer in the World, and it`s now up to their firms!

Both came out with wins at Mexico City`s Arena on Saturday night. “Barby” made the fifth defense of the WBC bantamweight title by defeating Japan`s Terumi Nuki, with scores of 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92. While Jackie defeated Venezuelan Alys Sanchez by TKO in her first fight in 18 months.

“My promoter Oswaldo Küchle just said yes. It’s a fight that the fans really want, and we`re keen to give them what they want. Truth is that I’m so very happy, that we can now prepare well for an outright war,” said Mariana.

She reiterated that she and Jackie have already figured in the fight expecting a prompt, efficient and successful negotiation between promoters Fernando Beltrán and Oswaldo to finalize all the details.

“We’re talking in order to finalize the contract, in order to know what date it, where and when. It’s a matter for the companies and we await their decision” said Jackie.

“Princess Azteca” added that the match is planned for October and the negotiation is underway.
