Khalid Yafai and Roman Gonzalez will enter the ring on Saturday night to fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Flyweight World Title at the Ford Center at The Star, in Frisco, Texas. This will be the sixth time Yafai fights to defend his title, and he will try to prove he is one of the best boxers in the division by facing a great rival.

Yafai arrived in the United States more than a week ago aiming to adapt to the weather conditions and schedule. The British boxer will have a strong challenge against the Nicaraguan boxer. However, he intends to raise his hand up one more time and keep his black and gold WBA belt.

On the other hand, “Chocolatito” wants to be at the top of boxing again by winning the title after going through a couple of hard years. Two defeats against Srisaket Sr. Rungvisai in 2017 were hard for the Central American boxer, but he wants to return to the elite of the division with this new opportunity.

During this week, there will be a press conference, the open workout, and the weigh-in ceremony on Friday, when boxers will have to weigh 115 pounds to be able to fight.

Yafai is 30 years old. He has 26 wins, no losses and 15 KOs. Gonzalez is 32 years old. He has a balance of 48 wins, 2 losses and 40 KOs.
