WBC no. 4 ranked super middleweight contender Avni Yildirim is sharp in training camp for his big showdown with no. 7 ranked Schiller Hyppolite on November 5th in Munich, Germany.
The 25-year-old fast rising Turkish crescent is unbeaten (13 fights, 13 wins) and has been WBC Youth Intercontinental, International Silver and EPBC champion at light heavyweight before moving down in weight and competing at 168 lbs.
“I feel very strong and fast at the lower weight”, said Yildirim. “My movement is getting better and better in every sparring session. I can’t wait for November 5.”
During his training camp in Dachau, Germany, Yildirim has been preparing with a six different sparring partners including WBC Youth World Champions James and Toni Kraft.
“Avni is looking very good in sparring”, states trainer and promoter Ahmet Oner. “He is sharp and focused and knows exactly how to use his power. He’s not at 100 percent yet, but he will be at his absolute peak on fight day. When I see Avni in the gym I start feeling sorry for Schiller. Of course, we cannot and will not underestimate him, but as long as Avni fights his fight there’s no stopping him.”
The Silver International super middleweight Championship bout, between Yildirim and Hyypolite is one of three WBC title fights at the big event on November 5th in Munich. It’s co-promoted by Ahmet Oner and former cruiserweight and heavyweight contender Alexander Petkovic who has built up a stable of promising young stars in Southern Germany.
“Toni Kraft will defend his Youth World Championship against Abdallah Paziwapazi from Tanzania and there’s also a Women’s World Middleweight Championship Unification between WBO champ Christina Hammer and WBC titlist Kali Reis”, says Petkovic. “It is a very big and important event for us.”
This’ll be broadcast live on Sky in Germany.
