ORTHODOX Nursultan Zhangabayev of Kazakhstan won three titles in just
one night after beating undefeated Steve Gago of Australia by a unanimous
decision last Aug. 14 at the ICC Exhibition Centre in Sydney, Australia.Aside
from the World Boxing Association Inter-Continental welterweight title, the
26-year old Zhangabayev also won the vacant International Boxing
Federation International welterweight title and vacant World Boxing
Organization Oriental welterweight title.Zhangabayev remained
undefeated with 8 straight wins and 5 knockouts while Gago tasted its first
defeat after 11 wins with 4 knockouts.
Zhangabayev earlier won the vacant WBA Inter-Continental welterweight
title by retiring Ivan Matute of Venezuela in the 2nd round last March 24 in
Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, undefeated Aidos Yerbossynuly of Kazakhstan took his 12th
straight win by a unanimous decision over Rocky Jerkic of Australia to win
the WBC ABC Continental and the WBA International super middleweight
titles. Tim Tszyu of Australia won the IBF Australia super welterweight title
by beating Dwight Ritchie.The promoter is Matt Rose of No Limit Boxing
Promotions.
