The World Boxing Council has always tried to be the tree that gives shade and support, plus a helping hand to those who need it most and in this very complex times that the world is going through due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, the WBC successfully created an extension of the “José Sulaimán Boxers Fund” to help both active and retired boxers and their families with food and supplies needed during the global pandemic, all through the “Covid-19 WBC Relief Fund”.
It important to emphasize that this Fund is the result of joint work between the Nevada Community Foundation and the WBC. The agency is currently working with food banks around the world to design boxes of food and supplies that are able to be delivered to boxers and their families as has already been the case in countries such as Mexico, the United States, China, and Thailand.
The WBC invites the boxing community worldwide to address any case of boxers they know who need the support of the Covid-19 Relief Fund, by sending an email to contact@wbcboxing.com or the Nevada Community Foundation to jane.ramos@nevadacf.org for the eligibility requirements.
