World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Francisco “Bandido” Vargas wants a fight before year end, but a good rest before that to heal and refresh.

Sporting bulbous dark glasses covering two gashed eyebrows, at the WBC press conference in Mexico City, Francisco says the damage actually looks worse than it is, only needing six stitches.

Comparing his two last ultra tough fights, he says Salido was more intense and threw more punches than Miura, but Takashi hit an awful lot harder.

Tempted by a welter of questions about how much a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work should be,  with a million dollars mentioned more than once , Bandido who is apt to stand and deliver, diplomatically replied he needs what’s just…and no more.

Looking back at his last fight, he reflected he was on the receiving end of a lot of low punches and some head clashes, saying that proved to be one of his mistakes.
