Serbian-born German former world champion “Captain” Marco Huck (41-5-1, 28 KO’s) is Back in Action against unheralded 26-year-old German heavyweight Dennis Lewandowski (13-4, 6 KO’s) this Saturday, August 29, at the Braunlage Stadium in Niedersachsen, Germany.

Many old fans like me might remember Marco Huck, the ethnic Bosnian born in Serbian, who fled to Germany with his family when he was eight and became cruiserweight champion of the world till five years ago.

“Captain” Huck held the WBO cruiserweight (200-pound) world title from 2009 to 2015, time in which he made 13 consecutive successful world title defenses.

Huck’s last battle was an NC result (No-Contest) against unheralded veteran Nick Guivas (14-10-3, 9 KO’s) in the USA in May of last year.

That fight of Huck against Guivas was originally a TKO win for Huck.

Strangely, it was later ruled an NC after New York referee Shada Murdaugh made an incorrect call, according to reports.

But that is the past. Huck, 35, is now looking to the future, still glory-hungry, never giving up his passion for boxing.

However, many boxing fans wonder this:

Even if he knocks out his Saturday’s opponent, how competitive & dangerous could Marco Huck be in the tough heavyweight division, a weight-class filed with starfighters as Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Alexander Povetkin, Deontay Wilder, and Oleksandr Usyk?

For some, Hucks was GREAT years ago, but his best fighting years are already in the rear-view mirror.

Time will tell.

“Captain” Marco Huck in a non-title heavyweight clash Dennis Lewandowski this Sábado in Germany. May the Best Man Win.!!
