Erick Rosa won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim Minimumweight title by defeating Ricardo Astuvilca by unanimous decision in a great duel of undefeated in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

The young fighter of only 21 years overcame the Peruvian’s experience and the scorecards were in his favor with 114-113, 117-110, and 117-110.

It was not an easy fight for “Minipacman” who had to decipher Astuvilca and win rounds with a lot of effort, but he showed who was the best in the ring and won the fight with authority.

Rosa thus became the first Dominican ever to win a title that fasts, since he got his interim title in only his fourth professional fight.

He now has a record of 4 wins, no losses, and 1 KO, while Astuvilca has a record of 21 wins, 1 loss, and 4 KOs.
