Natuplag confident to win against Berrio

DAVAO CITY – KJ “The Ipugo” Natuplag of Ifugao is now confident of winning against Argel “El Babillo” Berrio of Colombia by a knockout in their 8-round fight set on Sept. 12 at the La Perle in Al Habtoor, Dubai.

“Sa tingin ko makukuha ko knockout (I think I can knock him out),” said the 24-year-old Natuplag (8W-3L-2D, 7KOs).

Natuplag made his last practice last Friday. He had his last sparring against undefeated Jayson “Smasher” Mama of Gen. Santos City last week.

Natuplag had seen the fights of Berrio on tapes already.

“Oo napanood ko, sa tingin ko ay kaya (Yes I watched, I think so),” said Natuplag.

He said that he has no problem with Berrio’s style because he is also an orthodox.

“Basta ako ensayado (I just practiced),” said Natuplag.

Berrio (18W-8L-0D, 11KOs), on the other hand, has won three straight times this year already.

The 28-year-old Berrio first scored a unanimous decision against then-undefeated Gerardo Murillo of Panama last Feb. 13 at Planeta Rica in Colombia.

He then knocked out Elkin Rosarion in the 1stround at San Antonio de Palmito in Colombia last May 1.
Berrio stopped Jerson Cervantes in the 9th round to win the Colombian bantamweight title last June 26 at Hotel Iraka in Sincelejo.

The promoters are Roshan Nathanial of Team Roshan Sports Promotion and Dunstan Rozairo of DJMC Events.
