Ambo to fight Sigqibo in East London July 27

DAVAO CITY — Prospect Joseph “The Hunter” Ambo of Pangasinan will fight newly-crowed World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental super flyweight title holder Yanga Sigqibo of South Africa on July 27 at the International Convention Centre in East London, Eastern Cafe, London.The 22-year old Ambo (9W-1L-1D, 6KO) won the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation bantameiht title over Jason Buenaobra of Sorsogon by a technical decision in the 8th round in Pangasinan last March 13.Ambo, howeverr lost to Sukprasend Ponpitak of Thailand by a unanimous decision last Dec. 8.Sigqibo (12W-1L-1D, 3KO) won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title over Keyvin Lara of Nicaragua by a unanimous decision last Dec. 7.Sigqibo also won the vacant  World Boxing Council International super flyweight title over a split decision Rene Dacquel of Malate last July 27.The promoter is Ayanda Matiti of Xaba Productions.
